FINANCE MANAGER
Position reports to the Director of Finance and is involved in most aspects of the financial operation of the organization with emphasis on budgetary, cost and grant reporting.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and maintains financial systems by functional or program activities
- Prepares annual budget
- Establishes and maintains a system for collecting and analyzing data pertaining to multiple grants
- Provides financial support for the fund development department, funding applications and reports to funders
- Proactive communication with program directors
EDUCATION and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Accounting or finance degree , with advanced education a plus
- 5+ years of multi-faceted accounting experience in the non-profit sector including grant management, financial and management accounting, budgeting, costing and forecasting
- High degree of communication skills (verbal and written), particularly attuned to working with non-finance professionals and volunteers
- Strong desire to contribute to the mission of the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software - Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access
- Experience with non-profit accounting software
- Experience with Federal, state and foundation grant funding procedures and compliance requirements
